I took off work and presented promptly at 9:30 am with my car packed, ready to move in. However, upon entry, I found my apartment had not been prepared for my arrival. It had neither been cleaned nor painted. Please note that Lillian and Bernard are wonderful and that they were on it immediately. They did the best they could to rectify the situation. They are not to blame. Unfortunately, I was unable to move in today, as planned. When I came back at 5:40 pm to move in, I found the apartment was still uninhabitable. I have included a complete list describing the problems I encountered, which includes but is not limited to the fact that there was hair stuck to the inside of the freezer (an indication that someone had attempted to clean it with a dirty rag), urine on the toilet, food, hair, and grime sticking to the floor, sticky kitchen counters, and stains on the walls, baseboards, and in the bathroom, etc. The apartment still needs to be cleaned with a clean rag, a fresh mop, and, even better, a steam cleaner. In addition, the apartment has still not been painted; some of the stains were painted over and remain even more obviously visible now than they were this morning. To make matters worse, I have a professional moving company coming tomorrow morning. I have no choice but to move in. Please, at the very least, have the apartment cleaned properly so I can put my boxes on the kitchen counters and in the bathroom, and my groceries in the fridge and freezer. Unless they paint the walls late tonight or very early tomorrow morning, they will have to move my belongings in order to get the job done. The walls and baseboards are not acceptable as is. Please find below a list of some of the things that need to be addressed: Kitchen: 1. Dirt visible on baseboards 2. Grease, visible dirt, and food on kitchen cabinets 3. Stainless steel appliances with visible grease, dirt, and streaks 4. Under microwave light does not turn on 5. Floors are sticky with visible food, dirt, and grime; they do not appear to have been steam cleaned in a very long time. 6. The floors are well-worn and scratched 7. There is a missing baseboard with a nail sticking out 8. Grease, visible dirt, and food on the kitchen counters, back-splashes, and walls; they feel sticky. 9. Visible long-term accumulation of dirt on the top of the refrigerator 10. Hair is stuck to the sides of the freezer; to me, it looks like someone used a dirty rag to clean the refrigerator and the freezer. The rag, having hair and dust bunnies on it, may also have been used on the floor or, even worse, elsewhere. I did not unload my cooler into the refrigerator or the freezer, even though I brought it to unpack, today. Living Room 1. Visible dirt or scuff marks on the baseboards; they were neither cleaned nor painted 2. Visible dirt and possible stains on the walls. 3. I can’t tell if the floors have been steamed or mopped without removing my shoes, which did not seem prudent given the state of the rest of the apartment. Everywhere 1. I was told that the last tenant was a smoker; there are dark marks or stains in the corners on the ceilings. The ceilings have either not been cleaned or painted or both. 2. Visible dirt and dust on the a/c vents. This is a health concern. 3. Visible long-term accumulation of dirt, dust, and lint around and behind the dryer. I’m concerned that the ducts have never been cleaned. I was told that maintenance would not move the dryer and clean around or behind it. 4. Visible dirt and dust in the window tracks, so much so that some of the windows are difficult or impossible to open. 5. Hair is ubiquitous. This indicates to me that the apartment has not been cleaned recently; even a swiffer will pick up hair from the floor, corners, and walls. 6. Visible accumulation of dirt, hair, and dust in almost every corner of the floor. 7. Visible dirt and hair inside the cabinet drawers 8. Visible food and dirt on the blinds. They are sticky to touch in some areas. 9. The walls and ceilings have not been painted in a very long time. The apartment needs painting. Patchy touch-ups only seem to be making it look worse. 10. Low visibility through the windows due to visible dirt, dust, and grime on the glass. 11. Holes in the walls. Bedroom 1. closet doors do not open fully 2. cobwebs on ceiling see above Bathroom This was perhaps the most disturbing room of all 1. Visible urine on the toilet 2. Visible hair and dirt in the drawers 3. Visible hair, dirt, dust, and grime behind the toilet 4. Dirt and hair visibly painted into the door 5. Bathtub has multiple holes, bumps, and cracks. Possible sloppy or unfinished glazing.   Please note, I have lived in a lot of apartments. This is the most expensive one, yet. I have NEVER seen an apartment so dirty and so ill-prepared for a tenant. It is my understanding that my apartment has been vacant for weeks and that your company has had plenty of time to prepare for my arrival. I understand that mistakes can happen. At this moment, fixing the mistakes and correcting the problems, as fast as possible, is what is most important. I was very excited about moving into this apartment. I can not express how very disappointing and inconvenient today was. Please figure out a way to make this right as well --as a way to compensate me for my inconvenience. I expect you will do whatever it takes to renew my faith and my excitement.

Our technician was great, but the door should be replaced. There are screw’s with chipped pain visible indoors and there is a chunk of door missing on the outside facing piece. I’m sure the tech was guided to take the cheapest route….
