Why Simi Valley is one of the best places to live in SoCal

January 26, 2016

There are numerous excellent cities in the Greater Los Angeles area, each with their own perks and attractions, and Simi Valley is right at the top of that list. Nestled between the beautiful Thousand Oaks, and Moorpark, Simi Valley is one of the most attractive places to live in Southern California right now – and here’s why:

1) It’s been named the “Best City to Work In”
This is no small honor to take home in the Greater Los Angeles area, and it’s telling of just how well rounded a city it is. Assistant City Manager Brian Gabler told Los Angeles Daily News, “Anecdotally, we hear from companies that have moved out here that their employees become more productive.” Both the employees and the business owners love Simi Valley – and it’s no surprise, either. Which brings us to…

2) Residents love it there
It’s been ranked as the fifth happiest city in the US, according to a study by the University of Vermont. Wide open spaces, affordable rent, easy freeway access, and a laid-back lifestyle in what is otherwise one of the busiest areas in the United States, all lend themselves to being a dream place to live, at any stage in one’s life.

3) It’s a safe city to live and raise children in
Crime in Southern California is no small concern. Thankfully, in Simi Valley, it’s quite rare. Similar to the nearby Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley earned the title of seventh-safest city in the US with a population over 100,000 – an impressive figure by any mark.

4) It offers clean and affordable living
Located not far from Los Angeles, Simi Valley allows residents to live far from the pollution and high prices of LA, while enjoying a quiet life in a city with all the perks the larger surrounding area provides.

5) There are entertainment and dining options galore
Outdoors enthusiasts will find a great deal to love in Simi Valley, as will fans of shopping and nightlife. With several golf courses located around the city, and locations like Big Sky Park (which truly lives up to its name), you’ll never run out of entertainment options in this city.

Speaking of entertainment, this Thursday Decron is hosting a special carnival event at our Simi Valley River Ranch apartments. Come join us for this free public event, complete with music, games, and raffle prizes – learn more and RSVP here!
