One of the hottest topics in the real estate industry currently is the shifting role of multifamily homes. In July, Bisnow hosted a large conference on this topic in Downtown Los Angeles. The Big West Coast Multifamily Event featured over 40 speakers, including Decron Properties CEO David Nagel, and a variety of panels.
As noted at the event, both demand and cost for multifamily projects have risen dramatically recently. For Decron, this is no surprise, as the development of multifamily homes and family friendly spaces have been specialties of Decron’s for years. Decron’s goal has always been creating affordable multifamily housing, with a luxury finish – something that is perhaps most visible at properties like The Ranch at Moorpark.
Completely renovated to include luxury enhancements and amenities like manicured landscaping, private patios and balconies, sparkling pools, and much more, The Ranch at Moorpark exemplifies Decron’s approach to multifamily home real estate: take something great, and make it better. This also reveals a shift in the industry itself.
At the conference David discussed how social media has affected being a real estate operator. While customer service has always been a focus, the speed in receiving customer feedback is now immediate. If a customer hasn’t had the best experience, it’s simple for them to tell their friends online, or air their grievances on one of the many public web platforms that host reviews. The customer experience is more important than ever and operators need to provide service levels one would expect at an upscale hotel or high-end retailer.
Though Decron has been at the forefront of multifamily home development for some time now, it’s becoming clear to many in the industry that a shift is occurring with multifamily homes, which places it alongside the service industry; customer care and quality of living is paramount, and that’s exactly what Decron aims to provide.
