L.A.’s Most Walkable Neighborhoods: Koreatown

June 7, 2018

If Los Angeles is notorious for one thing, it’s the traffic. It’s not uncommon to see the freeways at a standstill after work, as cars creep along, stuck for hours, just trying to drive a short distance. As fantastic as Los Angeles is, sometimes it’s not a bad idea to skip the drive altogether when you can and invest in moving to a neighborhood that has everything you need within walking distance. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be highlighting some of L.A.’s best neighborhoods for walking, which also happen to feature some fantastic Decron apartment communities. This week, we’re exploring the hip K-Town neighborhood. Here are just a few reasons you should consider making Koreatown your next home base in Los Angeles:

It’s One of L.A.’s Most Walkable Neighborhoods
With a walkscore of 91, Koreatown is the 5th most walkable neighborhood in the entirety of Los Angeles. In addition to walking, you’ll find convenient public transportation with access to the city’s Metro Rail System through the Purple Line.

GQ Calls K-Town “L.A.’s Coolest Neighborhood”
Los Angeles has no shortage of neighborhoods, so when GQ posts a feature article calling one neighborhood the coolest, you know it’s worth checking out. As GQ puts it, “These three square miles constitute some of the weirdest, booziest, most diverse turf in America, thanks largely to generations of Latino and Korean residents who’ve opened a litany of thrilling bars and restaurants.”

It Has Some of the Most Unique and Exciting Sweets in L.A.
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, prepare to find it satiated in K-Town. With unique deserts like the colorful, fish shaped Ah Boong from Somi Somi, or the Dragon’s Breath – cereal puffs prepared with liquid nitrogen – from Chocolate Chair, there’s always something new and decadently delightful to try just around the corner.

Take a Load Off and Relax At a Popular Korean Spa
Featured in a viral Conan YouTube clip, Wi Spa is a popular 24-hour Korean spa in K-Town. It’s also incredibly affordable, with a whole day costing just $35. Just be aware that it might not be the spa experience you’re expecting, with mandatory nudity in the baths, and an extra vigorous body scrub.

Discover a Fantastic Apartment Community at the Heart of K-Town
If you’re looking a great 1 or 2 bedroom apartment in Koreatown, you’ll love Kingsley Drive. With upgraded units that include tile flooring and granite countertops, as well as incredible shared amenities like a pool and fitness center, you’ll feel right at home.
